7th Grade World Geography

My name is Jordan Hopkins and I will be your Social Studies teacher this year. I am very excited to be here in Morocco teaching at ASM. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and working with you and your families. Course Description:
This year we will be learning about world geography starting with some Geography basics and continuing through each major geographic region on Earth. Geography is a complex topic and we will be looking at many geographic aspects of the regions we will be learning about. These might include the physical geography, the economic geography, the social and cultural geography, and most importantly, the human geography of each region. Our goal will be to relate our geographic learning to current events and issues in hopes of gaining a better understanding of the world around us. The major units of learning will include:

· Population
· Economics
· South America Central America & the Caribbean
· North America: United States & Canada
· Europe
· Russia & Central Asia
· North Africa & the Middle-East
· Sub-Saharan Africa
· Central & South Asia
